SiteGround just announced that from the 1st of February 2021, they will no longer support WHMCS with their web hosting services. If you have installed a reseller Siteground whmcs billing software with them, it would be wise to act as quickly as possible and migrate your entire whmcs billing system to another hosting company, otherwise, your account will be terminated.
Why did SiteGround stop supporting WHMCS?
As they announced a few hours ago, they are in the process of migrating all their clients from cPanel to their in-house built Site Tools. As part of this process, they claimed to have evaluated whether they should integrate WHMCS into their Site Tools. As they lately mentioned that a very small number of their Cloud clients currently use WHMCS. So, they’ve decided to no longer support it for their future changes following 2021 due to the limited whmcs clients they have.
“At the same time, integration of the whmcs software into Site Tools will require significant development resources, which cannot be justified by the current client adoption rate. That is why we would not support WHMCS on our Site Tools-based services.”
What are your options?
- You have to let SiteGround know that you don’t intend to use whmcs billing system in the future. That way your web hosting services won’t be terminated. Also, follow the instructions they’ve sent you by email in case you host with them.
- If you intend to use whmcs billing system in the future and is a critical need for your business then the only option you have is to find another web hosting company that supports whmcs billing software before the 1st of February 2021.
